farewell to being human

This is a little late, but, was anyone else as obsessed with the US version of Being Human as I was? I started watching it from day one and was SO pleased with myself that by season 4 I had finally got Jesse hooked on it. And then, like being hit with a tonne of bricks, it was cancelled. The last 6 episodes were rewritten to give the characters closure and make me terribly sad. However, unlike some awesome shows this one did not disappoint (cough...Dexter) and ended quite beautifully.

For those of you who don't know what the heck I'm talking about, let's rewind. Being Human is a show adapted from the UK show of the same name, about a vampire and a werewolf (Not as Twilight-y as it sounds I promise!) who decide to try and be as normal as they can be and move into together, only to find out their house is being haunted by a ghost. Later, Josh meets Nora and marries her, but not before accidentally turning her into a werewolf..spoiler alert?

The best part about this show was definitely the cast. They worked so well together and you could tell that they all genuinely love each other on screen and off. They aren't that bad to look at either, those photos above.. Mother may I?!

Aiden (Sam Witwer) and Josh (Sam Huntington)'s bantering and bickering like an old married couple is quite entertaining, but, it's Sally (Meaghan Rath)'s bubbly and sarcastic yet horribly tortured character who really steals the show. Despite how incredibly bad she is at making choices you can't help but love her. Lastly, you really want to hate Nora (Kristen Hager) because she's the resident bitch, but you later learn to love her as she makes her way into the Being Human family.

In real life you can really tell how close they've all become. I mean, just look at these cuties:

It was a really bittersweet ending for me, I'm happy the show ended so well but I'm so so sad it's over. I'm going to miss them so much! What shows were you sad to see go?

CURRENTLY CRUSHING // ZOOEY DESCHANEL

This installment of Currently Crushing needs to be renamed to ALWAYS crushing, because I LOVE New Girl. It's bad. I can't even deny it - I've become completely obsessed with this show. I've also never cared for how many times I've heard someone say "I hate Zooey Deschanel" or "Zooey Deschanel tries too hard" etc etc. I don't think so at all! I love her to bits and here's why:

I think she is really cute and funny in New Girl. I find her character Jess Day to be incredibly relatable. I often find myself dancing like this. I wish I were joking. But I'm not. I actually dance like this on a daily basis.

She's starred in a lot of my favourite movies...

...and co starred with three of my favourite actors. Jealous - aka would totally marry all three of these men aka Shaaaawiiiing!

I've always enjoyed She & Him.

Her sister Emily is pretty cool (fun fact: did you know her dad is a cinematographer and her mom was in Twin Peaks?)

Lastly, I love her style. I think my style relates to hers a lot in the way that while I do love to wear dresses and be pretty a lot, I love to be comfortable in a good pair of pants and a tee.

If you've never watched New Girl, I strongly suggest it to you if you're into comedies or have nothing to do on a Tuesday night.

As you are reading this I'm most likely in the middle of getting my wisdom teeth pulled out. Yeesh. Probably not enjoying this much. Anyway, happy Tuesday everyone!

Source: I don't really know how to go about sourcing from Tumblr because nobody ever sources there and it's next to impossible to find out where every photo came from. If you search "Zooey Deschanel" on tumblr though, all these images are there. I guess Tumblr isn't a very good outlet for finding photos. Oops.

CURRENTLY CRUSHING // CECILY STRONG

If you don't know who Cecily Strong is, I suggest you watch the next episode of Saturday Night Live. She's one of the newest players and now co hosts Weekend Update with Seth Meyers. She's incredibly beautiful and she makes my ribs hurt from laughing so hard. I can't get enough of her!

I can't wait to see her in the movies. Definitely one of my favourite additions to the SNL cast and my most recent girl crush.

Also, how cute is her relationship with (SNL Feature Player) Mike O'Brien??

CURRENTLY CRUSHING // LIZZY CAPLAN

Ever since I watched Mean Girls I've wanted to be Lizzy Caplan. She's gorgeous, witty, has great style, she can play just about any character you throw at her and most importantly she's funny as hell. I guess that's why I've got a BIG LESBIAN CRUSH ON HER. (yes I am super clever...)

Since seeing her in Mean Girls she's been showing up in all my favourite shows, she was even the crazy disco girl on Freaks And Geeks. I was so excited to see her appear as a love interest to Jason Stackhouse in True Blood, a character that ended up making a blood crazy vampire murderer girl somehow loveable. But, she topped it with her character, Julia, the no-nonsense lawyer girlfriend of Nick in my favourite sitcom ever, New Girl.

And even though I think she should totally be married to Adam Scott so they can have adorable and hilarious little babies....

...She's actually been dating Matthew Perry since 2006. Yes, the Matthew Perry. And if that's not enough reasons to love her, she did these short films which almost made me pee my pants. (The first one is so funny even though it hits pretty close to home. Maybe that makes it even funnier?)

I think if I could be someone else, even just for a day, it would be Lizzy.

All photos were found on Google Images and I wish I sourced them all properly, but let's be real they were probably all from Tumblr, stolen from elsewhere.
