Happy Family Day!

For all us Canucks, today is Family Day. Hope you're spending it with your loved ones and doing lots of fun things! I worked a bit this morning followed by cleaning the house, but, there was some kid cuddling in there some where. Happy Family Day, from mine to yours!

Josie Is Two!

This has absolutely been the best two years of my life and I am so excited to have the rest of my life with this little gal. She is the best person ever, my Lil' Rock n Rolla. Happy Birthday, Josie!!

Family Photos

Ugh this whole week has a been a complete disaster for my blog, and I owe my sincerest apologies to my readers for not posting. My layout did something wonky and I couldn't fix it, and just haven't had the time to do anything about it until last night. So more apologies for it not looking the best, but, I did what I could in the short time I have between work and Josie these days to come up with something pleasing to the eye as well as functional.  I also don't have anything terribly important to talk about today, so I'm going to leave you with these wonderful photos my friend Carina took of us! Look at how cute we are.

Sweet Child O' Mine

I sat and stared at these photos for over an hour, wondering what to talk about so I had a reason to post them on the blog. But, all I could think of was just how much I love Josie. Of course, that's an obvious statement. My whole life, I knew I didn't want children - I never had the desire and I've never really liked kids. Fast forward two years and Josie is the most important thing about my life. She is the reason I live and breath. I remember her birth like it was yesterday, and as crappy as it was at the time, it really was the best day of my life, and Jesse's. Now, something as little as Josie saying "Cheese and crackers" or telling me she "pee pee" makes me prouder than punch. 

Ah, parenting. 

I often look at Josie and am amazed by how beautiful and amazing she is. I honestly cannot remember my life without her. I barely even remember much before Torin came to live with us. It's like he was always here, and he is just as important to me as Josie is. 

So, then it occured to me, I don't really need a reason to post pictures of my daughter and nephew because they are my life and something I love to share - And gosh, aren't they just the most darn tootin' cutest things you've ever seen?

Hi Berry Farms

Ah, the old annual trip to the pumpkin patch.

It's become a tradition for Jesse and I a couple years running now, and it's probably one of my favourite things to do all year now that Josie is here. The bike ride through the rail trail is the perfect little family bike ride, too. We took Cherie and Torin the other day to pick out some gourds for the center of our Thankgiving table. They set out a couple dozen barrels full that are low enough for kids so we always let Josie pick out her favourites. This year she seemed more interested in the hay stacks they had out, so I did most of the picking. We'll be back next weekend anyway. Josie looks really angry, but I promise she was having fun, she just makes that face whenever the sun is out. Haha!

Pumpkinfest

Every year in October, our community comes together to celebrate one of our town's biggest attractions: Pumpkinfest. It's all kinds of fun, including a petting zoo, carnival rides, locally grown farmers market, craft show, car show, and all the yummy food you can think of! There's also a big weigh off of some of the biggest pumpkins you will ever see. Some years we even have elephant and helicopter rides and free live bands (last year was The Trews)! This year there wasn't but it was still loads of fun, especially to watch Josie take in all in.

There were a few animals this year, ponies were available for rides and goats chilled out for kids viewing pleasure. I didn't stay around the animals for very long because for some reason I get very sad when I see animals that aren't wild. I don't know, they just look very somber and sad to me. I'd much rather see goats, sheep and ponies running and frolicking around in a field of grass and sunshine. Josie was really smitten with the goats, however, we didn't let her ride the ponies. 

Saturday we spent the afternoon at the car show and visiting Jesse's mom and sister, so I didn't get any photos of that day except for what I share on Instagram. We arrived pretty late because we had other plans on Sunday, so we didn't get in on much of the carnival action. Cherie and Jesse only really spent money trying to get the kids a giant Minion with no success. We ended up with a bendy flower and a Stewie in a banana plush. 


Even though we were only there for about an hour, it was worth paying for, just to see how happy Josie was when she was in the Hay Stack Maze. She was so proud of herself for starting from the beginning and working her way to the end. The best part was seeing her watch the other kids. Often she looked a little intimidated, but I could tell part of her was really curious and excited.

The food is always a great part of Pumpkinfest. There's so many local tables with fresh produce and products. And the food trucks. So many food trucks. Jesse had a burger and a hot dog, Cherie and I shared a Beavertail, much to my disappointment (wow, have they ever shrunk down!)

Oh yeah, and we met this little dude. One of our best and oldest friends Jamie had a baby with his girlfriend, Tiffany, and oh boy he is the sweetest thing. His name is Chayce Austin and I could just hug him and squeeze him and take him home with me!
