REVIEW // ELEVATED SCRAPS

I had been looking for a banner for Josie's room for weeks. I could have made it myself but I was looking for specific colours and designs which I no longer had in my scrap bucket. By some form of telepathy, Heather reached out to me and asked me if I would be interested in reviewing her Etsy shop, Elevated Scraps. And what does she make? Beautiful name banners, bird mobiles and ornaments out of fabric scraps!

Of course, I jumped at the opportunity. Heather is very sweet to talk to and knew exactly what I was looking for, even though I only told her I wanted it to be seafoam/blues, yellows and greys. This is what she came up with:

I actually hesitated (a long time) to do this review because my mom's camera is horrible and the lighting in Josie's room isn't that great. These photos don't even do the colours or quality any justice. I will have to do a second post when I get my new lenses so I can show you the vibrancy and quality of this product. Here is a photo she sent me of the product before she sewed it all together (see how great she is?!)

The photos from her shop are so beautiful and really show how great the product is. The fabrics she uses are designer and perfect for nurseries or craft rooms, but are completely customize-able and can be used in any room. She does such a good job and all the nice finishing touches are the cherry on top, for sure. Even down to the string loops and her little labels. So cute!

Heather did an amazing job at choosing the perfect fabrics and making a flawless banner. It matches Josie's room to a T and I couldn't be more happier. I can tell that it will hold up over time, even with Josie pulling on it (it hangs over the change table). She even sent these really neat handmade fabric nail covers that match the banner. It's a great little added touch and hanging it up was a cinch. The best part? Josie loves it, too!

The only thing I had troubles with was that when I hung it up the first time, the fabric squares all went towards the middle. With a long name or bigger piece of wall, it probably looks just great like that. But, I ended up adding a bit of hot glue to keep the letter blocks in place where I wanted them and then hung it back up.

Love Elevated Scraps? Well here's your chance to get a customized banner or bird swing/mobile - 10% off! Just use coupon code ESplusWHALE for 10% off until 12/31/13! I strongly recommend her as a shop owner, and as an adorable human being.

And make sure you pop in next week, we've got something special planned for my readers. :)

You can find Heather by visiting her website and Etsy shop, or by following her on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.
