Photos :: Beating The Heat

Let's face it, my life consists of taking care of my baby and my garden. And I just can't get enough of either!

A little play time with Daddy. It's been way too hot to do basically anything this week so most of our time has been spend almost naked hanging out on the floor under fans. Josie seems to really enjoy not having to wear clothes though. It's when she feels most comfortable.

The garden has been looking pretty good. The people who used to live here hadn't done anything the entire seven years they were here, so we've had to improvise certain things to make things look better without spending big money. We've been doing a tonne of DIY projects to decorate, bought a fire pit and even used some old wooden crates they left behind to kind of cover up the old fence in the back yard. Eventually we will paint it or just add a new fence. I was kind of hoping to just let some vine find a nice home of it.



The heat and humidity has really pushed my new flowers along and the Gazanias, Pixie Lillies, Peonies and some more bloomed over the weekend.

The only problem is, these pesky bugs keep eating all the petals!

 And speaking of visitors, we spotted this little guy sun bathing on the white fence but by the time I got  my camera he started playing in the trees. Luckily for me, he stopped to pose for just one photo.

It's actually kind of neat how many baby animals we've seen since moving into this place. I'm starting to feel like Snow White! Fortunately though, the heat has dissipated a little and hopefully the weather stays clear for Josie's first Canada Day!
