A Lush Review :: Rub, Rub, Rub

The Product: An exfoliating shower scrub made with sea salt, lemon juice and mimosa flowers.

How To Use: Rub all over skin to exfoliate and rinse. Can also be used as a shampoo.

Pros:

  • Much like Big Shampoo, it leaves hair soft, shiny and voluminous.
  • Smells amazing
  • Fun to use with it's bright blue hue
  • Leaves skin feeling soft

Cons:

  • Too harsh for my sensitive skin as a shower scrub
  • Unlike most Lush pots, a lot goes a little way
  • Gets watery if you're careless in the shower

Worth It?: I got my small pot in the Uplifted box (which is an excellent box for lemon lovers!) so it wasn't so bad. I only got about 6 uses out of the smaller pot, so would I pay $22 for a large pot? No.

The Verdict: Rub, Rub, Rub left my skin feeling very dry and sore. As a gal with sensitive skin I would vote against it. But, if you want a sea salt shampoo I highly recommend Big and as for exfoliation, Lush carries way better products than this. Was it fun to try though? Sure. Definitely try a sample before purchasing a full tub. And for the love of god, don't get it in the bottle, you'll have one hell of a time using it.

Tips:

  • For sensitive skin, I suggest rubbing on and immediately showering off. It does leave a nice smell on your skin afterwards
  • Use as a foot rub
  • If trying it out as a shampoo, don't rub into your scalp even if you feel tempted to scratch. The salt is finer than Big Shampoo, and it dries you out so bad!
