Top 5 :: Patriotic Party

Monday is Canada Day - a time of patriotism and fun. I can't say it's one of my favourite times of the year, a time when my pretty, quiet and small town turns into a crazy, loud, tourist spot. But, it is a pretty good day to have some friends over for a BBQ and then head down to the beach for some fireworks. Here are my top 5 favourite ways to show the love for your country at your party.

Old Fashioned Red Striped Straw | Puppy Cat Crafts

A subtle way to make a statement, these straws will bring out the colour at any party.

Red Hair Chalk | House Of Alo

Hair chalk is so popular right now, so how good would you look sporting your red ombre hair for Canada Day? Also, great idea for kids!

DIY Red Velvet Jars | My Cakies

Oh man, these look yummy! These red velvet jars are such a good idea - easy to make, easy to eat and they won't be out in the open for the pesky summer bugs to get into!

Red & White Paper Poms | Pom Garden

Great decoration idea! For inside or outside, these poms are super easy to make and a great way to brighten up the festivities with some patriotic colour. Make these round pre-made poms or do it yourself with this lovely how-to by A Beautiful Mess!

Ruby Lemonade | Port Cocktails

Make red drinks for your guests! Try this delicious looking lemonade, or be adventurous and create your own cocktail - it'll be a great conversation piece!

Hope everyone has a great weekend and a very fun Canada Day. And for all the Americans, Happy 4th Of July next week!
