Practicing Macarons // Pumpkin Spice

Nothing says Autumn more than making everything edible pumpkin flavoured. So, naturally, my next stab at french macarons was pumpkin spice. When I made these the other day, I was hoping to put up a recipe to share with you guys. Unfortunately, my experiment didn't exactly worked the way I hoped. These were delicious, don't get me wrong - you just need to be pretty careful with what you add to the shell batter. I added spices to it and it made the shells very fragile, and took over an hour to dry before they would even get the tiniest feed. I also couldn't quite get a grasp on this pumpkin buttercream. I just wanted to share how my practicing was coming along, and how even though I've been doing good, a little bit of a difference can potentially wreck your whole batch. See my other attempts here and here.

These macarons did work for me and were tasty, but, never the less, I do plan on tweaking the recipe and posting a much better version in the near future. Stay tuned.

  1. These look delicious! I've thought about trying my hand at making macarons before, but it always seemed pretty difficult to me. I have a hard enough time following even the simplest recipes so I know I'd find some way to screw these up. haha. Good job, though! :)

    1. Honestly, just try not to think of it too much and it comes to you naturally. There are certain things you need to take into consideration, but from a little practice, I've found that most of the things said about making macarons are myths. Practice makes perfect.
