Style // Floral Factory

I will be completely honest with you, I was about 50% comfortable with this outfit. I felt frumpy and huge. However, everyone kept telling me how cute I looked, and Carrie had done my hair that day so I decided to take photos anyway. It was a fun shoot because we went behind the old Southampton Market (it's an old factory) there was lots to work with.

Earlier that day, Carrie wanted to practice braids for work so I asked her to do a waterfall braid for me. I am obsessed. Kind of want my hair this way always now. Thank God my best friend is a hair stylist!

I bought this dress a couple years back, and had only worn it once, at my baby shower. It's pretty short and my chest is way too big for it now, but it surprisingly still fits me so I decided to keep it. I felt comfortable in it until I saw these photos, and was going to delete immediately. After some consideration I decided to keep them and post this because I feel like I see something completely different than what other people see when I look at myself. I guess it's my biggest challenge, to accept that this is how I look now, and that it's not necessarily a bad thing.

This bag I picked up at Maurices is my new favourite thing ever. It goes with everything and is the perfect size to carry all my things plus a few things for Josie, so I don't have to tote around her diaper bag for the summer. The inside is a cute pink and yellow floral print, added bonus!

Oh, and did I mention I started wearing lipstick? It's kind of my new obsession lately. I was scared to try it because I'm not one for making bold statements with my appearance, but I actually quite like it. It makes me feel very lady like. I haven't quite got used to the darker shades or reds, but I do love the pinks! It really brings an outfit together - how have I not worn lipstick before?
