Geocaching // Fairy Lake

Time for another Geocache hunt! This one was easy and a nice excuse to bike the trail around one of Southampton's famous spots, Fairy Lake. We use to hang out here a lot as kids, so it was kind of neat to go back and check it out after 10 years of growth. Still as beautiful as it was back then. This was Jesse's first Geocache, and he really seemed to enjoy it, and has been out with me a couple times now. There's not much to say about this Geocache, but, I wanted to share some photos I edited with Mextures. I just think they look neat.

On this occasion, we also spotted one by our Town Hall and failed to find one at the harbour. Womp Womp. Which leads me to this installment of Geocaching Tips:

What To Do If You Can't Find A Geocache:
If you're using your trusty Geocaching App (free in the app store!), which I assume you are, it will tell you that you're a few feet away from a geocache that doesn't seem to be anywhere. Instead of leaving and feeling defeated, click the arrow beside where it says "Found It" and choose the other option. It may feel crappy to admit you couldn't find it, but leaving a note saying you looked everywhere and it didn't turn up, helps others on their geocaching journey. It also gives the creator a heads up that their geocache has been muggled.

Have you tried out Geocaching in your area yet? Encountered any good finds? I'd love to hear about them! xo

  1. I am loving your Geocaching diaries. They make me so antsy to go out and do it.
Or at least leave some new ones.
I've gone a few times, and loved every second - I think I'll take my husband out this weekend. Thanks!

    1. It's really addictive! We want to leave some ones too, as there aren't a lot in our town but our sister town has easily over 300. The trails here are nuts for geocaches! It's awesome!
