NAILS // ROCK MUSE

 Plum Luck // Sally Hansen
Rock Muse // NYC Top Coat

I went through this phase last fall with chromes, metallics and shimmers because I was really getting into trends. I picked up this weird top coat from NYC called Rock Muse. It's a light layer of black shimmer which can be used over top of darker colours or other metallics to give them a cool edgy look. To be honest, I didn't even realize it was a top coat until I took it out of the bag when I got home.

I used it once or twice last year and forgot about it. I wasn't into how it made all my colours darker. I rediscovered in my never ending pile of nail polish last week and decided to give it a whirl. It goes SO well with the plum purple. I'm really excited about this manicure and will probably use it a lot this winter. The only problem is that is does not photograph well. They look way cooler in person!

Do you have any not so great polishes you recently fell back in love with?

  1. I'm still rocking bright colors on my nails because I'm not ready to let go of summer yet! I currently have a bright red from Julep with a flakey silver glitter on top from Ulta. Sorry I don't know the names (I'm at work).

  2. Cool! That's a fun idea for a top coat. I have this Sally Hansen nail polish that is pearly/opalescent and I use it the same way to give colors a cool iridescent look.
