NAILS // OCTOBER MAVEN BOX

Wow, I feel really tarty for not posting this yesterday, but in my defense, it totally felt like it was Sunday, not Monday. So this should have been two posts, one as my weekly nail and the next as my Maven Box review, but heck, it's basically the same thing, so no big deal.

I signed up for Julep this month and received my first free Maven Box the other day. I was really surprised when it arrived less than 5 business days later. The packaging was very nice and I really enjoyed that it was black. It came with a free gift too, these moisturizing spa tips for your nails. They were great! Really easy to use, not messy and left my fingertips feeling so soft and rejuvenated.

After my style quiz they offered me a box that seemed kind of boring. A classic red and a pearl white polish with a foot lotion. So I switched it with the It Girl box, that contained three super awesome polishes:

I am obsessed with how vivid this purple is, I wish this camera did it any justice. I decided to use the metallic white for another manicure and used black for this one instead. If you can't tell, there's black triangles under the glitter. It's not my favourite manicure, and I had to use matte over it to hide the pillow case prints that happened from going to bed too soon after painting. A mistake I don't often make, but I will be honest, the smell of this polish was a bit strong for me and kind of gave me a headache. It was also night time though so we had the windows closed.

The purple needed three coats but I did love how smooth it applied and how shiny it is when it dries. It's still kind of transparent but I'm sure if I applied a white base coat first the colour would really pop.

I'm pretty excited for my next box because I've pretty much bought every colour that exists locally and I really love getting mail!
