A Lush Review :: Buffy Body Butter

The Product: Buffy is a body butter bar packed with ground rice, almonds, beans, cocoa and shea butters. Works as an exfoliant as well as a moisturiser.

How To Use: Massage all over your wet skin while you're in the shower and rinse off the exfoliating bits. Pat skin dry to avoid rubbing off body butter.

Pros:

  • Leaves skin amazingly soft
  • Helps with cellulite
  • No need for a lotion after the shower
  • Long lasting

Cons:

  • Abrasive
  • Doesn't smell fabulous

Worth It?: I didn't purchase this on its own, it came in my Uplifted gift box, but a big block for $11.95 is a great price for the endless uses you'll get out of it.

The Verdict: This is a rough one, literally. I love Buffy a lot because it left my skin feeling so so soft and at the same time helped firm up my skin on my butt, legs and arms. Unfortunately for me, it's too abrasive for my sensitive skin. So, I would recommend this to everybody, there's other ways to apply it without scratching yourself and it does wonders to your skin!

Tips:

  • If you're sensitive, rub into your hands like a soap bar and rub all over your bits. This non direct way of applying Buffy will still leave you soft as a baby's butt without the harsh abrasiveness of the almonds and rice.
  • Keep in a container (a body butter tin or an old Lush pot) to avoid it melting in your shower.
  • Usually I'd say cut your product into pieces to make it last longer, but Buffy holds up pretty nicely if you just use it as is - I got probably 30 uses out of mine!
  • The website suggests paying extra attention to your backside but the best use, I believe, is under your arms. If you have loose skin there it helps tighten it up for a more toned skin. (But yeah, it really smooths your bum out too!)

I had this new layout made up for awhile but didn't really have the time to set it up until this morning. Hope you like it!
