My name is Amber and I am the main writer of this blog, but from time to time you may see a friend or two in here! I am twenty six, born and raised on the shore of a quaint little town in Ontario. It's such a small town that yes, I did fall in love with my childhood best friend. And in 2012, I met the other love of my life when I gave birth to a beautiful little girl named Josie Adele. Us plus a Boston-Spaniel named Dexter Morgan make one happy family! I've been a stay at home Mama for almost two years, while my hubby helps run a carpentry business with his cousin. However, I recently started working again at a new, cozy little coffee house in town here, which I absolutely adore. I have the best team ever and together we service our area with the best coffee and healthy, enjoyable meals.  We are also in the beginning stages of starting a small candle business, and I couldn't be more excited about our future. I have never been able to say I fully love every aspect of my life until now and I hope that shines through my blog.

I love to craft and I have been an Etsian for a few years now. I ran under a different name for three years until I renamed the shop The Whale & Wasp. I started this blog to promote my shop and it's really taken off. I love writing and sharing things with people and I don't know why I never blogged before. I ended up taking a break from sewing, closed down my Etsy shop, and have since changed my name to Banjo & Scout to better suit my personality. Since becoming an aspiring candle maker we have rebranded once again to Northern Flicker Co.

When I'm not laughing at all of Josie's hilarity, mastering my barista skills and writing for my blog, you can often find me on an intense bike ride, sewing, baking, taking photos, attending concerts, drinking chai lattes, getting tattooed, watching movies, shopping, taking long walks and watching lots of Saturday Night Live.
