Blueberry Green Tea Smoothie

One of my goals for the new year is to eat cleaner, and I've always loved the idea of juicing and even more so, the wonderful world of smoothies. Without even saying so, Jesse read my mind, because one of the Christmas gifts from Jess this year was a personal blender with 12 attachments. My old personal blender had worn out over a year ago and I've been craving homemade smoothies ever since. They make me feel really good and they're fun to make! The best part is, you can pretty much throw any fruit together and it's delicious and healthy no matter what.

I threw this smoothie together on Boxing day and now I just can't stop. It has kind of a weird colour but don't let that deter you from trying it, it's delightful!

Blueberry Green Tea Smoothie
1 banana
1/2 cup frozen wild blueberries
1 tsp honey
3 tbsp boiling water
1 green tea bag (or 1 tsp of loose leaf green tea)
1 cup baby spinach
Milk

♥ Boil the water and put in a small dish with green tea bag and let steep for 3 minutes. I used a plain one and then another time I used a Superfruit green tea (pomegranate) and they both tasted delicious. Try what taste best for you!

♥ Add your spinach to the blender first so it's easier to maintain (trying to shove it in the blender last is kind of a pain in the arse). Peel banana and add to blender in chunks. Add frozen blueberries, and honey. Remove tea bag and add the green tea into your mixture. Blend until nice and smooth, adding milk a tbsp at a time until it's to your preferred consistency. If it becomes too runny, add an ice cube or two.

♥ Enjoy!
