Sunrise & Sweetheart

When I was younger I always dreamed up all these crazy ideas for tattoos. Most of which are no longer something I would ever want on my body, but, some have remained vivid ideas in my mind for over a decade. Most importantly, I have always wanted a set of anchors to pay homage to my sisters. I remember it actually being the first tattoos I wanted. For whatever reason, I never got them done. If I can remember correctly, I think it was because I was unsure of placement, and what artist to do it. They had to be perfect, so who ever was doing it had to share my vision and had to be good.  I had gone to other artists, had other tattoos done, but for some reason I just kept holding the anchors off. After sitting in for a few of Carrie's sessions, I decided Sheldon from Inkternal Custom Tattoos in Port Elgin was the man for the job.

So, for my birthday, we booked an appointment to finally turn my vision into a reality. Sheldon drew up my idea and made it 100x better than I had imagined. Four hours later, they were on my skin for life. I couldn't help but shed a little tear once they were done. They are so beautiful and I am so happy I have these anchors now for my sisters.

We had some difficult times in our childhood that I'm not sure I could've coped with if it weren't for them. No matter what happened in our lives, my sisters were always there for me. They were strong when I couldn't be, made me happy when I was sad, and poked fun at me when I was being an idiot (Hey, what are sisters for?), but, most importantly they were my best friends. They have always been the one stable thing in my life. They are my roots, my home. Dawn is my Sunrise, and Chérie is my Sweetheart, and they will always be my anchors in life.

Dress // Maurices
Belt // Modcloth
Shoes // Walmart
Lipstick & Nails // Julep

I picked this dress up in the Spring and it's probably one of my favourite pieces of clothing. It's easy to dress up and down. I'm also dipping my toes into wedges and I must say, I am enjoying them. I'm so used to wearing flat footed soles, it's nice to switch it up every once in awhile. And I just have to mention how on point Julep has been with colours for Autumn. LOVE. IT. xo
