5 Ideas For Champagne Birthdays

This Sunday my sister Cherie turned 28, making it her champagne birthday (for those of you who may not know what that is, its when your age is the same as the date of your birthday)! We celebrated by throwing her the cutest backyard bash, filled with glitter, pink and gold. Today, I'm going to share a few ideas we used for our party, to inspire you for your next celebration:

O n e // Champagne Jello Shots! They're really easy and tasty, without worrying about how drunk you're getting off them (for some that's a plus, but not for me haha) We opted for raspberry jello instead of white grape. I didn't get any photos because we gobbled them up in a flash but this photo is c/o Erica's Sweet Tooth. We didn't use this recipe though, instead all we did was replace the cold water with champagne in the recipe on the jello box, and sprinkled sugar on top when the jello cubes were almost ready.

T w o // Make it prom themed! We had so much fun with tulle, paper poms, construction paper, streamers and balloons. We used this arch to take prom photos. It's dorky, but oh so fun!

T h r e e // For this time of year, you can create beautiful decor by painting gourds and pumpkins with your colour scheme and lay them about your food and other decorations. All we used was acrylic paint, glitter and modge podge.

F o u r // Pink Champagne cupcakes are effortlessly elegant and perfect for any type of party. We used a simple recipe which calls for a box of white cake. Just replace the water with champagne and tint pink with gel paste food colouring. It makes a great buttercream champagne frosting. Yum!

F i v e // Put glitter on everything. This was a tedious, but very rewarding project. It took Cherie a couple of days but she eventually put glitter on wine bottles, drinking jars, pumpkins, garland, and even our solo cups. One container of gold glitter, about a tbsp of black paint and a cup of modge podge and presto - glittery decor in a pinch!

Today's featured recipe on Cut Out & Keep is my yummy Strawberry Rhubarb Iced Tea! Enjoy!
