DIY :: Chevron iPhone Charger!

Here we are, my first How To project. And it's easy as pie! A simple and very cheap way to make your bland white charger stand out from all the rest - and a good way to make sure no one confuses yours with theirs!

Supplies you'll need:
  • Apple Cube Charger
  • Nail Polish in the colours of your choice
  • Top Coat polish or any clear sealer
  • Zig Zag nail stickers (I got mine on eBay for cheap)

Step 1: Wipe the cube down with a cloth or a wipe to ensure there is no dirt or greasy finger prints that can prevent the polish from sticking. Carefully place your zig zag nail stickers vertically across your cube, about 1/3 of a cm apart (roughly the same size in width as the sticker itself). Be careful not to make them crooked leave any air bubbles.

**TIP: If the stickers are too short, like mine were, double up by carefully matching them up in the middle - you'll want that extra sticker on the edges for easily removal later.**

Step 2: Paint in between the lines any colours you prefer. I chose to do mine rainbow, but I might try doing my other cube charger just one colour. Hold the charger by the prongs as to avoid touching the polish. Do two coats if the first one doesn't quite cover up the white. Stand the cube on it's face, prongs up, to dry on a paper towel.

Step 3: While holding the prongs, carefully peel stickers off. You can wait until the polish has dried. I didn't and it was fine but if you're not sure you can peel them off without touching the paint, let it dry.

**TIP: Don't worry if the polish bled through where the stickers meet up, it can easily be chipped off with your thumbnail or a small tool once it dries.**

Step 4: Wait until completely dry (like hours!) before you finish with a top coat or a sealer. Don't make my mistake and coat it after an hour. Some of the colours bled even though they were dry to the touch, red in particular. The beauty of painting it with nail polish is that if you mess up, you can always dry it and then use nail polish remover and try again.

I decorated the end of my charger cord as well, with matching polka dots.

If you try this craft please send me photos - especially if you decorated it differently, I'd love to see what you came up with!
